125,000 visitors from 153 countries make Host the innovation hub
for the increasingly globalized Hospitality sector
Milan, 26th October 2011– Host 2011,which closed its doors yesterday at Fiera Milano, proved to be a record-breaking event: not only for the world record of 623 espresso coffees served in an hour, but also for the significant figures which characterized the event. In particular, the number of Visitors, all professionals, increased up to 125 000; and 34% of them came from 153 foreign countries.
All the figures of the event
The exhibition was held on a 100 000 square meter area, +10% if compared to 2009; while 1,600 (+17%) companies attended the event - 190 of whom were new entries -, and the number of foreign exhibitors increased by +21%. An impressive growth was recorded for the bread, pasta and pizza sectors (+46%) and for the coffee industry (+27%).
“'At Host – says Enrico Pazzali, CEO at Fiera Milano– all efforts for designing and investing in the sector are palpable. For visitors this means innovation, which is so much technological as conceptual in nature, and true ideas for developing new formats suitable to meet the ever-changing consumers’ needs. This is proved by the increase in foreign visitors, +19% if compared to the last Host event”.
This event has been characterized by particularly lively exchanges; Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Turkey, England, Holland and the U.S.A. have proved to be some of the most active markets; and China and Russia have doubled the number of their attendees. Several companies from Canada, Croatia, Finland, Malta, Panama, Russia and Thailand have also made their debut at Host.
Moreover, Host promotes internationalization not only by bringing the world in Milan, but also by “exporting” its formula to the most interesting markets. The agreement between Fiera Milano, in partnership with Deutsche Messe AG, and The Indian Express Limited Group has been recently formalized: together with Tuttofood, Host will land in Mumbai from January 19th through 21st, 2012 under the name of Food Hospitality World.
Coming soon: Guangzhou (China), from November 29th through December 1st, 2012; São Paulo (Brazil), from March 25th through 27th, 2013.
A quality leadership
Besides being a privileged place where new products and initiatives are presented, Host 2011 has also proved to be a fundamental platform for exchange and discussion among trade Operators, where the most promising trends are identified and analyzed, and the most innovative and effective solutions are outlined.?A schedule full of meetings, training programs, data and research presentations has added to the business “menu” a pinch of a particularly interesting cultural program.
The opening conference has offered insights in the vast and complex away-from-home sector, presenting the outcomes of a study, promoted by Fiera Milano and Host, about the recent developments in customer behaviors. Among the meetings on the emerging markets, great attention has been devoted to South Russia, a region in development in view of 2014 Winter Olympics which will take place in Sochi.
The 38th Host awaits you in fieramilano (Rho, Milan) from Friday 25th through Tuesday 29th October 2013, and in 2015 within the Expo semester.
