What are the current market trends presented at Host 2011?

Environment awareness becomes business
An interesting trend which is outlined at Host 2011 is the new sustainability approach of the Ho.Re.Ca sector. A survey carried out by Fiera Milano and Host among a selection of Italian and international operators, shows that companies consider sustainability no longer as limited to energy saving or as a matter of brand image: 45% of respondents said that sustainable means "zero impact", and “making profits without wasting resources" (30%). Sustainability is, therefore, an opportunity to streamline processes, while minimizing costs and creating new business opportunities.

Mori 2A, for example, particularly focuses on sustainable and innovative materials to meet the demands of its international customers: "We export 73% of our products, mostly to Europe but also to Russia and China - said the co-owner Alvise Mori. - Our customers are increasingly attentive to the quality/price ratio as well as to innovation, all combined with the Made in Italy design. We conduct careful research on materials, with particular attention to eco-sustainability, such as biodegradable polypropylene and bisphenol A-free plastic materials ".
