100,000 square meter exhibition space, + 10% compared to 2009. The number of foreign exhibitors has increased by 21%, 1,600 companies are attending the event. 190 of which are exhibiting at Host for the first time. Some companies come from new markets which are attending Host for the first time, such as Canada, Croatia, Finland, Malta, Panama, Republic of San Marino, Russia, Thailand. If, on the one hand, we are undergoing a period of international crisis - and this is an irrefutable fact -, on the other hand, an encouraging sign is coming from Host. The world leader show in the hospitality industry records growing figures, i.e. a sign of vitality, optimism, desire to revitalize the food and production industry and to provide incentives for the economic flows. All the sectors represented at Host have positive signs and attitudes: bread, pasta and pizza record an increase in the number of companies attending the event equal to +46%, +27% for coffee, +21% for Hotels&Spa Emotion, +11% for Cafés, +15% for Professional Catering, +7% for the ice cream and pastry-making sector.
“Thanks to the six specialization grouped in three macro-areas, i.e. Food - Bread / Pasta / Pizza; Bar - Café-Ice cream / Pastry-making sector; Hotel & Spa, Host combines the general overview on the whole Horeca industry with insights in the individual sectors capable to meet the needs of the most specialized operators" said Simona Greco, exhibition manager at Host. "Rather than one business opportunity, I would speak of multiple synergistic opportunities which are increasingly intertwined. Our commitment to the industry is to identify and highlight such opportunities for them, so that they become real business opportunities. And this is one of the main added values Hosts can offer. In a market which is more and more tending towards forms of hybridization in the different areas, the Host formula highlights in a natural and effective way possible synergies: consider, for the example, the trend related to hotels with Spas, or to pastry shops which are more and more offering ice cream, too.”
A great number of events is also scheduled during the five-day exhibition.
